Oh goodness, two weeks! In two weeks I’ll be running all around Disneyland and the streets to Anaheim. And there will be so much to look that I’ll hardly notice that I’m running 13.1 miles. At least, that’s what I kept telling myself during my long run this week when I felt like stopping – imagine actually running through Disneyland! I also finally finished my costume for the race and I’m so excited to show you all when it’s put together. I think it’s going to be really cool! I shared a sneak peek in the pic above.
I got one 30 minute run in this week and my big run. Instead of doing 14 miles I did 13.1 again, because honestly that’s what I need to do in Disneyland doing any more than that sounds too painful right now!
It’s been super hot this week so on Tuesday, after waiting to see if it would cool down or my schedule would clear enough that I could make up super early (it didn’t), I finally gave in and went to the gym to use the treadmill for 30 minutes. It was fine, not my favorite but I got it done!
Then Friday I did my long run. It was warm but there was a cool breeze which helped a little bit. I was doing really well until about mile 8 when my hips started to hurt. I just walked probably the last 3 miles because it hurt too much to run. This is the same problem I had at princess. I’m doing to try and get to yoga at least once this week and hope so more stretching there helps me out!
I’ve heard about this Disney run sounds so fun!! I know a bunch of people dress up in cute outfits too!!
Yes planning the costume is one of my favorite parts!! I’m dressing up as Esmeralda from the Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Hooray! You’re almost there! I’m so excited for you. I think you’re going to have beautiful weather this time of year. Can’t wait to see all the pictures and hear all about it.
Thanks! It seems like at 5:30 in the morning when the race starts it should be in the low 60’s, which is pretty much perfect for me. Weather can have such a big impact so I’ll be very thankful if that’s the case!
Doing the right stretches before and after your run should make a big difference! I am sure you’re taking the right pre & post workout drinks… You are going great by the sounds of it preparing …. I am sure you will great!
I really miss running!!! Let us know how you are doing and how you made out !!! 😀
Thanks! yes, I’m trying to do lots of stretching before and after. I asked my yoga instructor to give me some stretches specific to my problem areas so those should help too.
I wish I was running it! A Disney race is on my bucket list but until I do, I will live vicariously through you, LOL
Haha well I will definitely post all about it when I get back!
It is coming up fast! I am so excited for you! You are going to have a blast and do awesome!
Thank you! I’m very excited!
