According to my countdown, I leave for Disneyland in 86 days! It’s exciting that it’s getting so close! I still have to work on getting my Esmeralda costume together. Week 5 in Galloway’s training program, and I had the longest run I’ve had to do since probably the Princess Half Marathon: 6.5 miles.
My first run this week I had to do on the treadmill because it was raining for about 3 days straight. I went after work and I think I ate a late lunch because I wasn’t feeling great for the 30 minute run, but I got it done.
Wednesday I did another half hour run and was finally feeling like my old self! Keeping the pace under 11 min/mile and feeling pretty good about it.
On Friday I tackled the 6.5 mile run. I started feeling a little nauseous about halfway through, so I definitely have to experiment with what I eat beforehand. But I got it done! Nowhere near my pace from the Hershey 10k, but I’m pretty convinced that was some sort of miracle, especially since I ran it with pneumonia. The fates smiled on me that day so I could get a good proof of time and corral for the DL half!
