It’s time to start planning my costume for the Disneyland Half Marathon! I have almost no components of my costume so far (just a white tech shirt that I bought which I will decorate in some way), but I did decide on which character to do – Esmeralda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame! I have some ideas on the skirt and headband (I’m working with an awesome Etsy seller on designing a skirt and can’t wait to see it – that will be featured on the blog!), but I’m toying with the best way to create the shirt.
This week my paces were slower than last week’s because I realized if I push myself as hard as I have been, I will die lol. I just can’t expect to be running at the pace I was pre-pneumonia yet. It is beyond frustrating though.
On Sunday I did my 30 minutes and it was okay. The best run of the week for me.
Wednesday was another 1/2 hour run, but it was pretty awful. The last 10 minutes or so I started feeling really, really nauseous. I had actually started out quite well, but ended up walking most of the end of it. I don’t know if it was the fact that work had catered lunch and I ate too much, or that I was really low on sleep this week, but it was not a good feeling!
Because of Wednesday’s run I took it much easier for my 4 mile run. 4 miles used to nothing and now it feels like a lot. Remember that whole “feeling frustrated” thing? The fact that my pace for a 4 mile run now is about the same as my half marathon pace was less than 3 months ago is beyond frustrating. I know I just have to basically act like I’m starting from scratch, but I hope I’ll see improvement soon.
