I already have a general Disney Bucket List, but after planning my visit and taking my trip to Disneyland I found that there was so much in that park that still I wanted to do! So I decided to create my own Disneyland version of my bucket list. These are just things for Disneyland specifically – some of them I completed on this first trip, but others mean that I’ll have to come back! I highlighted in bold the ones that I was able to complete on my 2015 and 2017 trips – but there’s still plenty more to do.
So without further ado, here is my Disneyland Bucket List!
- See a Disneyland cat
- See the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay on the Haunted Mansion
- Go swing dancing
- Have a drink at Trader Sam’s
- Meet Oswald
- Meet Captain America
- Watch the Cars land lighting ceremony
- See World of Color
- View the Paint the Night parade
- Watch Fantasmic
- Watch the Disneyland fireworks
- Do the Walk in Walt’s Footsteps tour
- Eat a dole whip in the Tiki Room
- Eat a corn dog
- Dine by the water in Blue Bayou
- Have a Mickey beignet
- Eat at the Chef’s table at Napa Rose
- Take a picture in front of the castle
- Run a race through Disneyland
- Enjoy the lobster nachos at the Cove Bar
- Ride Radiator Springs Racers at night
- Get the Star Wars coast to coast medal (when they bring back RunDisney!)
- Run the Avengers half marathon (when they bring back RunDisney!)
- Attend D23 Expo
- Visit during Christmas time
- Ride all of the remaining “opening day” attractions
- Have a character breakfast
- Do the character breakfast at Goofy’s Kitchen
- Do the character breakfast at Storyteller’s Cafe
- Draw at least 10 different characters at the Animation Academy
For those of you who have been to Disneyland before, what else do you think I should add to my list? I’m definitely open to suggestions! What’s on your Disneyland bucket list?
Are there a lot of differences when it comes to Disneyland vs. Disneyworld? We live about 2 hours south of World, so we go there about 2x a year. 🙂
There are a lot of differences! I’m actually working on a post now about the differences between them so hopefully I’ll have that up next week!
Great list!! We have only been to Disneyland once as a family and we weren’t able to do everything we wanted. I’m going to create our own Disneyland bucket list. That is such a great idea! I can’t wait to go back. Disneyland is such a magical place, even for adults 🙂
Just talked to my sister in law about your list. Love it. We go in February. Thanks for sharing!
Heather, that’s so exciting! Will it be your first visit? I hope you have as great a time as I did!
That’s a nice list. I’m in Florida and I don’t believe WDW has the Walk In Walt’s Steps tour. I wish it did. It sounds interesting.
WDW doesn’t have a Walk in Walt’s Footsteps, but they do have other backstage tours. I’ve done the Wild Africa Trek in Animal Kingdom and Behind the Seeds at Epcot, but I’d love to do one of the big ones that goes through the Magic Kingdom 🙂
LOVE THIS. Disneyland is on my bucket list! I’ve been to Disney world a ton.
Kerin, I’ve been to Disney world a lot too and I’m so glad I went to check out Disneyland! I highly recommend it 🙂
Great list! You accomplished a lot on your first visit. I’m going to pin this so we can do some of them too.
Thanks Shann! We had a lot of time there so it was nice to get a lot done, but no way we could do everything 🙂
Understandable . Have you planned a return trip yet? Is there a time of year you would recommend?
I don’t have any definite plans yet – I think I’ll probably try to go back in 2-3 years and it will either be for their Star Wars race weekend or in August so I can do the D23 expo. I really like visiting in the fall (as long as it’s not to close to a major holiday) because it’s not too crowded, the weather is nice, and you can take part in either the Halloween or Christmas festivities that they have going on!
This list is so cool, and i can’t think of anything to add to it! I’ve only been to Disneyland, CA once, and would LOVE to go back soon!
I’m loving this list. I’ll definitely save it. Hopefully I can make it to Disneyland soon.
x, Juliet
I love your list!! Disney World and Disneyland are SO equally amazing – no matter what you do you can’t go wrong!! Always such a good time no matter how old you are! I can’t wait to get back to Disney : )

Love this bucket list. I can see the bucket list becoming somewhat of a scavenger hunt!
That’s a really good point!
Such a great list! I want to go to Disney soon and this list has given me a few great ideas.

I’m glad to have inspired you a little bit!
What a great list! When I go (someday), I want to get pics with all the princesses and get their autographs!
That was something on my Disney World bucket list – and I did complete it (though not all in one trip!). Now until they add another princess, haha.
Thanks so much for sharing this list! I’m planning a trip to SoCal and may have to make a Disneyland pitstop.

Oh yes, if you’re going to be in the SoCal area I highly recommend visiting Disneyland, even if it’s for one day!
