Welcome to this month’s Blogorail Green Loop. Today we are sharing some Disney inspired date ideas.
As two grown adults looking for a good date night, you may not immediately think, “Disney movie!” (though if you’re like me then you totally do). But sometimes a quiet night in is just what you need to relax and forget about some of the stresses in the world. There’s no better way to do that than with a good Disney movie if you ask me. And one of the perks about watching Disney films as an adult is that you can open up a bottle of wine to go with it!
I’ve put together a list of some of the Disney movies we enjoy watching and wines to go with them – based mostly on the name of the wine, and perhaps not so much the flavor. These would also make for a really fun time for a girls night in as well!
Sleeping Beauty
For a night with Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip, nothing is more appropriate than this “Thorny Rose” wine.
Cinderella
Once upon a Vine actually makes a number of fairy tale inspired wines, so you could try them with lots of different movies. In addition to this one they also have The Fairest Chardonnay (Snow White), Enchanted Woods Bubbly (Beauty and the Beast), and Villainous Zinfandel (great for lots of Disney movies with evil villains!).
Frozen
If there’s one thing that Anna and Elsa love, it’s chocolate. Celebrate their love for their favorite treat while watching Frozen with a chocolate-infused wine from the Chocolate Shop!
The Lion King
One of my husband’s absolute favorite wines is Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz. It’s made in South Africa, so it would be a great accompaniment to a film like the Lion King!
Lady and the Tramp
If you’re looking for a romantic Disney movie, nothing beats the scene in Lady and the Tramp when they enjoy the spaghetti. And of course with spaghetti you’ve got to have some Italian red wine! I’ve chosen Rosa Regale, because it’s available in the Italy pavilion in Epcot and a Disney fan favorite.
What other Disney movies would you like to see wine pairings for? Which of these sounds like one you’d like to try?

What an amazing collection of pairings! I love Rosa Regale too and have to have it every time I am in “Italy”
Yes, Rosa Regale is one of my favorites!
Great idea! I like the idea of pairing wines with a Disney film, but also think this is a great way to try something new that otherwise might have not been given a chance!
I agree, we picked out bottles of wine before just based on the name or label and found some winners!
What a great idea! I’m going to have to try some of these, especially your Frozen pairing. Any ideas for Beauty and the Beast?
I will definitely have to come up with something good for Beauty and the Beast – it’s my favorite!
What a fun idea! I’m definitely going to do this soon!
You can’t go wrong with Disney movies and wine!
What a great idea! I’d love to see what you would pair with Beauty and the Beast, Robin Hood, and The Little Mermaid.
I already found something for Little Mermaid when I was at a friend’s house – she had a bottle called “Rock it Like a Redhead” 😉
This is so fun! I’m watching all of the Disney movies in order right now, need to save this list!
Yay, me too! I’m up to Lion King right now.
Omg, I love this post … Rosa Regale is my favorite wine, we had it at our wedding!
Oh that’s so great you had it at the wedding! I love Rosa Regale.
This is such a great idea! I’m going to have to find the Jam Jar. Sounds great.
It’s a staple in our house!
