Though I couldn’t have a wedding in Disney World, I was lucky enough that my husband was okay with putting “Disney touches” into our wedding, and we decided to go with an overall fairy tale theme. One of my favorite parts of planning the wedding was figuring out our centerpieces. I knew I didn’t want the typical flower arrangement, so I worked on creating my own Disney wedding centerpieces. Each table was based on a different fairy tale.
The base of each centerpiece was decorative book boxes I found at Michaels. These were gorgeous and had that old fashioned look that reminded my fairy tales. Though the Disney stories are films, the book aspect was very important to me as a children’s librarian! So I wanted to include books in some way, and this was the perfect way to do it.
Then, to represent each fairy tale, I found little items to display on top of the book boxes. I visited thrift stores, places like TJ Maxx, and shopped online at Amazon or eBay. Finally, to create each table name I made a bookmark with the title of that fairy tale and used a photo stand to hold it up.
The fairy tales we used were Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, the Little Mermaid, Snow White, the Frog Prince, Rapunzel, Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, the Princess and the Pea, and Peter Pan. Here are some photos of each!
Which of these Disney wedding centerpieces is your favorite?
These are so cute! And I love the books in the center as well <3 Happy Friday!
Thanks so much Alexandra! The books were one of my favorite parts since I’m a librarian – I knew books definitely needed to be involved!
I absolute adore the beauty and the beast one! I actually have a centrepiece like that saved on one of my pinterest boards! I think it is classically beautiful! that being said all of them are wonderful, thanks for the post!
This was the first one I came up with because I originally wanted to do an all Beauty and the Beast themed wedding, but my husband didn’t want to be thought of as a “beast,” haha.
These are precious! Love it. You can see your personality shine thru in them. My favorite (of course) is Beauty and the Beast. Love that tea pot!
Aww, thank you! I love Mrs. Potts, my favorite mug for drinking tea is one from hallmark with her on it and the quote, “Is it one lump or two?” It’s so cute!
Oh my gosh! These are so cute. I love how you incorporated Disney into your wedding. The Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast are my favorites, but I really love them all. You are so creative!
Thanks Shann, I had a lot of fun putting them together!
How fun are these! Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie. I love how you made it your own!
Thanks Kelsie! Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie as well 🙂
My favorite is the beauty and the beast… What a great idea!
Thanks, that is my favorite too!
How creative!! Love that they are all different 🙂
Thanks! I knew that I definitely didn’t want them to be all the same 🙂
What a cute idea! So fun and perfect for a fairytale wedding!
Thank you!
Not sure I could pick a favorite but I suppose Aladdin is my top favorite, right up there with The Little Mermaid. At our wedding we did something similar, we did themed fish bowls and I had various trinkets at the bottom that represented us. One table was all disney item, one was Red Sox, one was our undergrad =)
Oh wow Becki I love that idea, it sounds awesome! I like the fish bowl idea!
Those are too cute! I want to plan an event now so I can make those!
I think they were be perfect for any fairy tale themed event (shower, birthday party, etc.) – let me know if you ever do!
My favorite, of course, is Beauty and the Beast!
Of course!
