Some great Disney conversation starters to use with friends and family (updated 2/19/21):
I love talking Disney with all of my friends and family who also enjoy it. Even with someone I don’t know that well – if we find out that we both like Disney there are instantly plenty of things to talk about. But still, every once in awhile you may get stuck for a discussion topic. That’s why I came up with Disney conversation starters!
These are all great open ended Disney questions to ask your friends – about the movies, theme parks, and more! I first created them when I hosted my Disney cocktail party. I was looking for some easy but fun activities to keep everyone entertained. And with the Disney theme already going on, I figured this would be a good solution!
In fact, my first set of Disney conversation starters was so popular I decided to create even more. I’ve been doing a few guest spots on All About the Mouse podcast where we gather some Disney fans and go over some of these Disney discussion questions. There are so many ways you can use these. In person they are great for parties or small gatherings, but you can use them virtually too.
How to use Disney conversation starters
There are so many Disney topics to talk about, but what if you’re not sure where and when to use them? You can print the physical cards to have on hand, or you can just keep them in a digital format. All it takes is one person to read the Disney question and then let everyone else answer it! Here are just a few ideas when to use them:
- Hop on Zoom with some Disney friends
- Post them to your facebook page
- Have them out at a party
- Use them for conversation at the dinner table
- Bring them to the theme parks and use them to pass time waiting in line
- Tweet a question (use hashtag #disneyinyourday or #disneyconversationstarters !)
Some of my Disney conversation starters
I now have two sets of Disney conversation starters – each one has 24 questions. That’s a total of 48 questions, so it should keep you busy for a bit! But here’s a peek at some of my favorite Disney topics to talk about:
- Who do you think is the scariest Disney villain?
- What is one Disney movie you love that you feel is underrated by others?
- If they built a 5th theme park in Disney World, what would you want it to be?
- Who would you want as your Disney sidekick?
Download and print your Disney conversation starters
And I’m happy to share the little cards I made with all of you! Just download, print, and cut out, and you’ve got your own Disney questions to discuss with family and friends. I chose to put mine on brightly colored paper, but cardstock might also be a good choice. But really, anything works!
They are free to download – no email sign-ups or anything required. Just click the links below to access the PDFs. Though if you enjoy them, I’d love it if you spread the word!

Similar Disney activities and games
I’ve had so much fun making and sharing these Disney conversation starters that I’m already thinking about other activities I can create and share as well. Perhaps similar to these Disney discussion topics but with a twist. Maybe pick something more controversial and do Disney debate topics, with two sides going back and forth? Create a tournament-style Disney bracket (like best Disney movie) that people can share, discuss, and vote on? Or perhaps a series of Disney travel games that could be used on a road trip? Let me know what you might enjoy seeing next!

Thanks so much!
Awe I love these for family convos during dinner. When my boys are a little older (and speaking real English, not just jibber) I’m totally doing this!
Haha yes, that sounds like a great idea!
Nice, I don’t really have many friends in the real world to talk about Disney with. I only have you guys in the blogging and Twitter worlds for that.
Haha yeah – I’ve also used some of these questions to post on my blog’s facebook or twitter to see what all my online friends have to say!
These are really cool! I love the idea of using them at a party. I also used to take my students on a Disneyland field trip, these would be a great bus activity!
That’s another great idea! Also good for families with kids who might be traveling to pass the time!
Such a cute idea! I think this would be great for a family dinner. It would especially be great during our big holiday gatherings…get rid of all the arguing over political stuff.
Oh yeah, I’d much rather talk about Disney than politics!
Really great idea!! Those questions have me thinking now! This would be a great ice breaker game as well!!!
Yeah, they would work really well as an ice breaker!
