Disney Bounding: Ariel from the Little Mermaid

Ariel Disney Bound - Disney in your Day

If you’re not familiar with the idea of Disney bounding, it’s actually a really cool fashion technique that you can use in your day to day life to bring a little Disney into your day!  The concept is that you wear normal clothing that in some way resemble the look of a Disney character: for example, wearing a yellow skirt or pants with a blue top represents Snow White.  You can also add fun accessories to add to it, like an apple necklace.  Many people don’t realize you’re Disney bounding, but Disney fans may recognize who you are!  It’s also a fun way to “dress up” when you visit the theme parks without actually wearing a costume.

Ariel Disney Bound - Disney in your Day

I’ve been interested in trying a Disney Bound, so I headed to my closet to see what I might have available.  I decided to go with an Ariel Disney Bound.  I wore a green dress with a purple sweater to represent her colors.  I also happened to have my Jamberry Mermaid Tales nails on which was perfect!  Finally, I wore my pearl necklace since I always associate pearls with the ocean.

Elegant Ariel

I also put together a graphic to represent this look as closely as possible.  It’s not the same dress or sweater (both are from a couple of years ago), but they are very similar.  My dress is from ModCloth and this one is as well.

I was able to wear this outfit both to work and to my play rehearsal that evening.  No one at work noticed anything, but then at rehearsal one of the girls looked at me and said, “You know, your outfit looks just like Ariel!”  I was excited that she recognized it and told her that was exactly what I was going for.

What do you think of the idea of Disney Bounding?  What character should I tackle next?

I love the look! And I love that DisneyBounding can be as subtle as you want it to be (or don’t want it to be, haha) so it can be worn on any given day! 🙂

Disney Bounding is so fun! And I’m planning a Rapunzel costume for Halloween – we mostly need to work on my husband’s Flynn Rider costume before Saturday!
