The past month or so I’ve been writing in a planner that asks me to list an “affirmation” for the day each morning. This is a phrase or quote that should get me encouraged and reassured to get me through the day. Sometimes I just do something simple like “You are strong.” I’m a big fan of the quote from Hamilton – “I am the one thing in life I can control.” And of course there are lots of great Disney affirmations that I use as well.
Many are quotes and song lyrics from the movies, though some are from Walt Disney himself. I’ve been trying to collect them all in one spot because times are hard right now, and I often need that extra little motivation from some of my favorite characters. Lots of Disney characters go through extreme challenges and difficulties and make it though, and I know that we can do the same.
Here are some of my favorite Disney affirmations getting me through this period in time:
Dory said it best – sometimes we need to remember to just keep going.
I believe many of us underestimate ourselves, but we need to remember we are stronger.
Whether it means just getting through the day or trying something new, focusing on just moving forward often helps me.
As difficult as change is, that is part of life. And what we do have control over is how we handle that change.
Honestly, sometimes this is the best you can hope for right now! And it’s totally okay to have those days.
It’s nice to remember that we have power sometimes, even if it doesn’t always feel like it.
I know we always want to rush things – I at least get anxiety when something takes a long time. But this is a good reminder from Cinderella’s fairy godmother.
Don’t even put any pressure on yourself to achieve or do lots of things – just try.
When you figure out a way to survive then you can figure out how to really live, too.
Putting in some effort at times can make a difference – it’s good to feel like we have some control during uncertain times.
Every mile may be a struggle, but we have to remember it’s worth it in the end.
Sometimes we will feel like we are not good enough or inferior to others – but remember everyone has their moment. It’s okay if it’s not right now.
Occasionally it can be hard for me to believe this… but I know at the end of the day I try to do my best and be happy with who I am.
While I don’t necessarily think this is always true, it’s good to aim high and follow your dreams to see what happens.
Which of these Disney affirmations do you relate the most to?
My favorite was the one from “Inside Out.” Humor helps.
I love everyone of these quotes! And they made my day! Thank you for sharing!
The Winnie the Pooh quote is my favorite!! Needed that today!
All of these quotes are so cute and yet so powerful! I love the Wreck it Ralph quote!
