I know most of you are at home right now. Whether you were supposed to travel and can’t, you’ve got kids at home with nothing to do, or you’re just worried about getting bored – there is plenty to do for Disney fans! There are tons of Disney activities at home you can take advantage of. Here are just a few ideas about how to keep some of the Disney magic alive when you’re self-isolating:
Disney+ and Disney movies
If you’ve got a subscription to Disney+ you can get tons of movies and TV shows! Go back and watch old favorites or find some you haven’t seen yet. I’m working my way through watching every animated Disney movie in order of release (the last one was Brother Bear), so I’m going to continue on with those.
Read a Disney book
There are lots of Disney books and now is a great time to read! Get involved with our online Disney book club (germ free!) – we’re currently reading “Mother Knows Best,” a fiction book with the truth behind Mother Gothel from Tangled.
Here’s a few other Disney book reviews and titles I’ve enjoyed:
- Aladdin: Far from Agrabah
- Lost in a Book
- Once Upon a Dream
- How to Be a Disney Historian
- The Wisdom of Walt
Disney recipes
Staying home means cooking at home, but you can still add some magic to your meals! I’ve got lots of Disney recipes on my blog, whether you’re looking for a sweet treat,a full meal, or a fun drink. Here are some of my favorites:
- Dole Whip recipe
- Sanaa bread service
- Lighthouse Sandwich from Columbia Harbour House
- Baby Yoda cocktail
- Brazilian cheese bread
Disney crafts
Time to get crafty! Make something Disney inspired, whether you do it on your own or as a family activity. Some easy DIY projects I have on the blog:
- Disney wine charms
- Up picture frame
- Customized magic bands
- Disney recipe box
- 10 easy Disney DIY projects
Disney games and activities
We have a lot of Disney board games in our house which makes for some fun activities. Over here we’ve got Disney Scene It, Villainous, Disney Codenames, Seven Dwarfs Gemstone Mining Game, and a few others as well.
Or you can print my Disney conversation starters to create some interesting discussions!
Running
If you’re a runner or you’ve been thinking about a RunDisney event, you can still go outside and run! Maybe you’re training for the next Disney race, you’re running for fun, or to stay in shape and get healthy. No matter the “why” you can add some Disney magic – check out my Disney running playlist.
Plan a trip for next year
Yes, travel will happen again. The Disney parks will reopen. Even if your trip is cancelled this year or you’re nervous about traveling anytime soon, think about next year. Plan where you’ll stay, where you’ll eat – contact me as a travel agent and I’ll help you plan your trip! Or just think about your “bucket list” trip…. sometimes it’s fun to fantasize.
“Staycation”
Many of you may be staying home anyway, so turn it into a “staycation”! I used to do this as a kid when we didn’t take a vacation. I’d make my house a hotel, label all of the rooms with room numbers, charge my parents to sleep there… okay, so you don’t have to do it exactly as I did. But make some of those Disney recipes for dinner, decorate your room to look like a Disney hotel, and watch some YouTube videos of attraction ride-throughs! Get creative – I’d love to hear what you do.
What Disney activities at home are you doing right now to get through?
I love everything Disney! These are such great activities to do during this crisis!!
