If doing a full out costume for Halloween isn’t really your thing, maybe doing a Disney Bound is the perfect in between solution! I used this one when I went to California for the D23 Expo over the summer. I knew a lot of people went full costume/cosplay, but but I wasn’t quite prepared for that so I went with this Disgust Disney Bound one day instead!
If you’re not familiar, Disney Bounding is a super fun way to show a little of your Disney passion without being over the top obvious about it. Basically, Disney Bounding is when you dress in the colors or style of a certain character, but you use your every day clothes instead of a costume. I’ve done a number ofDisney bounds you can take a look at:
This Disgust Disney Bound probably ended up being my favorite one that I’ve done so far. It was closer to being more of a costume than some of the other outfits, but still a “normal” enough outfit that it would just look like a dressy sort of day rather than a specific costume. And if you wanted to make this a costume instead it would be super easy – just add a green wig, some make-up, and flower pattern to the dress.
The dress is of course the main component of the outfit. I got this dress from Amazon and I feel like it’s basically perfect for Disgust. It’s also pretty affordable (at $29.99) and I could use it again for another costume in the future or just for when I want to get a little dressed up. It fit everything I wanted for this Disney Bound – it was sleeveless, a v-neck, and had a full skirt.
Disgust also has a green belt around her waist, and it’s a pretty big one. So I found this oversized green belt on Amazon and thought it worked pretty well. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a big green belt because I don’t know how often I’d re-wear it, so this $7.99 one worked out. If you want to be more authentic, or you’re wearing this Disney Bound during cooler months, I’d recommend some green leggings as well. I knew I was wearing this in California in the middle of July so I passed on the leggings!
Definitely not disgusted by Captain America 😉
And that’s a lot of green, so now it’s time for the colorful accessories! I’m not sure if I’d call her scarf and shoes pink or purple – they seem kind of like a pinkish purple! So you could probably go either way depending on what you have. I tried to match as closely as I could while staying affordable. This scarf is called pink but it has some shades of purple in it, and it’s a bit of a darker pink. And finally the shoes – I actually got mine at Primark (which is an amazing place for cheap, basic clothing and very handy for Disney Bounding shopping if you have one nearby!). But Amazon does have lots of options – I like these.
You could totally do some fun things with make-up too – green eyeshadow (or mascara/eyeliner!), and a pinkish purple lipstick makes this even more fun. And then you’ve got a fun Disgust Disney Bound!
Which Inside Out character would you want to Disney Bound as?
Love love love that dress! I am a sucker for a green dress! That is a great idea for a costume!
I didn’t have much green in my closet so I definitely thought it would be a fun addition!
That is so cute! You said you were Joy last year, right?
I was actually Joy for Halloween this year, haha! This outfit is from the convention I attended over the summer.
Oh geeesh! That’s right! Duh!
This is so fun! A great costume for a Disney fan!
It is, easy and fun!
Cute and classy! I love casual Disney cosplay!
Me too! Disney also has an event called Dapper Day, which I think this would also work well for!
