Disney Wine Charms - Disney in your Day

I like to try and make Christmas gifts every year, usually in addition to a store bought item, for my family.  This past year we got bottles of wine to give as gifts from a local winery, so I wanted to do a wine themed DIY project in addition.  I decided to do wine charms, and while I created some nice sets for my family members I also made a Disney wine charm set for myself!  It’s a pretty easy project, but here’s what I did:

Disney Wine Charms - Disney in your Day

Materials:

Hooks (like these:World Pride® 100 Silver Plated Wine Glass Charm Rings Earring Hoops)

Small beads

Charms (I ordered in bulk from Amazon, but if you’re looking for a specific theme you may be better going to a craft store and picking out specific charms. You can get cheap bulk sets like this one: Charms Pendants Mega Mix DIY for Jewelry Making and Crafting).

Instructions:

Once you have all of your materials together, actually assembling the charms was a fairly easy process.  If you have small beads you just need to make sure the opening is long enough to actually fit on the hooks.  For the looks of mine I did two colored beads, the charm, and then two more colored beads.  I tried to match the colored charms to the bead – so for my Ariel charm, I used green and purple beads.  And that’s really it!  You hook the ends together around a wine glass and you’ve got a wine charm!  I did sets of 8 for my family, but you can really do as many as you want.

To make them “Disney,” I created a Princess set with charms to represent each one.  My set included: a carriage for Cinderella, mermaid for Ariel, frog for Tiana, snowflake for Elsa, and then two general princess charms,a crown and a tag that said princess. But there are lots of other things you could do! A clock or shoe for Cinderella, a rose, tea cup, or book for Belle, a seashell for Ariel, etc.  You can get creative with whatever characters you like!  Perhaps a playing card for Alice, or a lamp for Aladdin.  Or you could do a theme park set: a rocket ship to represent Tomorrowland, pirate ship for Pirates of the Caribbean, a bird for the Enchanted Tiki Room, etc.  There are tons of possibilities based on what charms you find!

Would you want your own set of Disney wine charms?

Aww, thank you! For some reason Disney is the thing that has stuck with me and I never get bored talking or writing about it:)

This is absolutely adorable! I totally need to get these for my nieces. They both have birthdays coming up and they are huge fans of frozen. I need to get one for both of them!

These are adorable! I am definitely thinking that some of my family members will be getting these this year for the holidays. I wonder if I could find cute glasses and themed wine to go with them.

You totally could! Have you heard of “Once upon a Vine”? They are a wine company and all of their wines have titles that are puns on fairy tales, like “The Fairest Chardonnay.”
