Below you’ll find my Disney Halloween rice krispies treats recipe to help celebrate a little magic at home this season!

Disney Halloween rice krispies treats - Disney in your Day

One of my favorite things about visiting Disney World is all of the fun and unique food and snack items they have. While rice krispies treats may seem like a basic, straightforward item, Disney knows how to make them special! Rice krispies treats shaped like Mickey heads and dipped in chocolate have become popular items in the parks, and for Halloween they step it up a notch. Since I won’t be visiting Disney World this season I decided to bring a little bit of the magic to my home with this Disney Halloween rice krispies treats recipe!

Rice krispies treats are delicious and pretty simple to make. For decorating, it depends on how detailed you want to get with it. I think the easiest thing to do is just dip the ears into the white chocolate and then use some sprinkles. They look elegant and it’s hard to get it wrong! I like purple and orange sprinkles for Halloween.

If you’re a little more ambitious you can try some other designs. I did my best to make a Mickey Jack O’Lantern, Jack Skellington, and candy corn. I’m definitely not an artist or master decorator by any means, but I think they came out all right.

A few tips that I picked up while making these:

Cookie cutters are awesome for cutting out specific shapes, like Mickey heads. I didn’t have just a circle so I used Mickey and then chopped off the ears to make Jack Skellington. For the candy corn I just used a knife to cut out a triangle with rounded edges.

If you want to do multiple colors, separate the white chocolate into separate bowls and then add different food coloring to each of them.

And for this one I did my very first attempt at a recipe video! I won’t lie, it took awhile to do, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out and it was fun to put it together.

Yield: 10-12 treats

  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups rice krispies cereal
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips

  1. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted, then remove from heat.
  3. Add rice krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.
  4. Evenly press into a 9x13 baking dish (or 9x9 if you prefer thicker treats).
  5. Using a cookie cutter, cut out Mickey heads and fun shapes. You can also cut out a shape freehand using a knife.
  6. Pour 2 cups of white chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl and melt in microwave, 45 seconds at a time and mixing in between until mixture is smooth.
  7. If you'd like colored icing, add food coloring to the white chocolate chips.

  9. Use sprinkles and icing to decorate your treats with fun Halloween designs!

Notes
