My 2016 goals

January 1, 2016 by beckyginther@gmail.com 22 Comments

1. Read more books2. Get a new hobby3. Try rock climbing4. Be more creative

I recently started doing monthly goal posts, which I’ve found really helps keep me organized and focused.  Then I saw lots of bloggers creating their 2016 goals, and I wanted to do that too.  When I really tried to do it, I realized the thought of creating goals for the entire year was overwhelming!  But I sat down, thought of everything I’d like to do that is blog related in the next year, and came up with a list.  I know that these things are definitely subject to change depending on how my life and the blog grow over the next year, but at least I have some place to start!

2016 Blog Goals:

  • Have over 1,000 followers on all social media (instagram, Pinterest, twitter, and facebook)
  • find more Etsy shops to feature
  • get more organized with my posting schedule, pinning schedule, and blog to-do’s
  • research and potentially implement a new blog design
  • update images on all old blog posts
  • work on indoor photography skills
  • Get more people to join my Pinterest group board
  • Add a page to my blog about my travel agent business
  • Start an email list
  • Switch comments over to Disqus
  • Set up Disney Wedding spotlight posts
  • Attend at least one blog conference or event
  • Get my travel guide/e-book available for readers
  • Educate myself more using many of the blogging pins I’ve pinned on Pinterest and never actually looked at

2016 personal goals:

  • Try to keep the house clean and organized.  This is a big one for me.
  • Have more self-confidence, particularly when it comes to theater and auditioning.  Don’t let the negative thoughts get the best of me.
  • Run at least 4 half marathons.
  • Read at least 52 books.
  • Do something different with my hair for once (I’m thinking of cutting it short).
  • Cook at home more often rather than eating out.
  • Travel!  We’ve got trips planned to Florida for Disney World and a Disney Cruise, as well as a Germany/Paris trip in September!

What are your goals for the new year?

I’m loving some of these goals! One of my goals is to work on cold-emailing more people and companies. I think that will help all my social media goals as well!

Go to Japan. Finish my novel. Complete my 2nd B.A. Focus. See everything that is to offer on this island.

You have some amazing goals and I feel some of them should make my list! I’m also vowing to read 52 books this year, focusing on Leadership and Personal Development. If you have any recommendations for me or would like some, please let me know 🙂

Thank you! I haven’t read a ton in that area, but I was at a leadership conference and they mentioned one book there that I thought had some great ideas in it – the book is called “Start with Why.”

Yes! It is going to be time consuming though – but worth it I think!

Thanks! I am a librarian so I try to read when I can. My favorite genre is middle grade fantasy though I’m open to anything that sounds good. I get a ton of book reviews and info on new publications coming across my desk, so I find a lot of my books to read that way!

Ohh Europe in September has got to be beautiful! Well, Paris is beautiful all of the time. Haha. I’m so bad at actually looking at all those tips I’ve pinned as well. We can do this!

Hi, I'm Becky!

I'm a huge Disney fan in my early 30's and always trying to find a way to put a little bit of Disney into everyday life. I live in Pennsylvania but travel to the theme parks several times a year - I'm an annual passholder at Disney World! In addition to Disney I love traveling, running, and theater.
