Most of my old Hollywood Studios photos are actually from the time when it was known as MGM. These are from my trip in 1997. This one you can see the Great Movie Ride with some lovely flowers out in front, before the hat was there (and now that hat is gone again!)
Then we have a shot of Star Tours from the same trip. This was my brother’s absolute favorite ride!
Finally, no TBT post would be complete without a picture of me as a young kid, right? My brother and I played around with sticking our hands into other people’s handprints in the cement.

Great photos! We actually visited with my parents in the very first year in 1989. I need to dig out some all photos from some of our trips when I was a kid. The parks are so different now!
If you have photos of the first year that it opened I would love to see them! That is very cool!
I remember on that trip every morning we would wake up and ask you kids where you wanted to go that day and every day Tom said “Star Tours.” He wasn’t interested in anything else. How many times did he go on that ride?
Haha so many! I feel like it would be the same thing if he went to Disney today.
