February is here, my friends! Usually I feel like January takes forever, but it went quicker for me this year. Part of that is because I spent 5 days in Disney World, running the Disney half marathon, hanging out with great friends, and eating lots of good food. Then I came home, jumped back into work for a few days… only to be hit with some sort of virus that took me out for another 5-6 days. But the good news is I’m feeling better and there are lots of great things on the horizon this month! I’m looking forward to seeing the new Captain America movie, heading back down to Disney World for the Princess race weekends, and then also hitting Universal for their Mardi Gras celebrations!

Disney rumors
Hollywood Studios // MuppetVision is closing sooner than many people were predicting, which has led to some speculation on Monstropolis and whether it means that it may open earlier than anticipated. My guess had been that it would open in 2028 (Tropical Americas is supposed to open in 2027, so my thought was they would try to spread out their debuts). With work clearly starting in Hollywood Studios soon, it’s possible that Monstroplis could open in 2027 (or even 2026??)
Hollywood Studios // Since they are closing MuppetVision, Disney has been pushing the re-themeing of Rock n Roller Coaster to appease fans. They’ve said that Rock n Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets will be coming “soon.” But what is soon? I would guess early 2026. With Test Track and Big Thunder Mountain still down for long-term refurbishments, they probably don’t want to do too many at once. Maybe once Test Track re-opens they’ll start on Rock n Roller Coaster next?
Animal Kingdom // With It’s a Tough to be a Bug closing on March 17, Disney is still stating that they are going to open Zootopia: Better Zoogether in “winter 2025.” While that could technically mean it would open on March 18,19, or 20th that seems incredibly unlikely – so I’d guess we’re looking at a December 2025 opening.
