I love Disney, and i love food, so it’s no surprise that one of my favorite things to do at Disney World is to eat. And as much as I love Magic Kingdom park for all of the magic and fantasy that it provides, it doesn’t necessarily always have the strongest food options. It wouldn’t be my first pick to snack around, but if you’re there for the day there are still plenty of yummy snacks to enjoy. Lots of classics that you probably associate with the Disney parks, as well as a few hidden gems or things you might not know about.
Let’s take a look at my Top 10 Snacks in the Magic Kingdom:
Citrus Swirl
If you know me, there’s no doubt that you knew this would top my list. This is my favorite snack in all of Disney World, so of course it’s going to be at the top of a list of top 10 snacks in the Magic Kingdom. I’ve written a whole blog post about how much I love it, but I highly recommend it to anyone who likes frozen treats and creamsicle flavors. The sweet vanilla soft serve mixed with the tart, icy orange is pure heaven on a Florida day. And that orange bird mascot is pretty adorable.
Popcorn
Sure, you can get this at all the Disney parks, but for some reason it seems best in the Magic Kingdom. The smell of popcorn while walking down Main Street feels iconic. My favorite thing to do is to grab a bucket of popcorn and then find a seat to camp out while I wait for the parade or fireworks.
Nutella Fruit Waffle
Sleepy Hollow is a great place to stop for some more interesting snacks, especially involving freshly made waffles. But the highlight here for me is the nutella fruit waffle. They take one warm waffle, slather it in nutella, and then top it with bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. It’s delicious and also huge, so it makes a great sharing snack.
Mickey Pretzel
Everyone knows that soft pretzels taste better when they’re shaped like Mickey Mouse. These adorable pretzels are tasting and filling. I have a positive association with Mickey Pretzels because of the time I had a big panic attack in the middle of the Magic Kingdom – the paramedics suggested I try to get some food in me, so a kind cast member gave me and everyone in my group a free Mickey pretzel. It reminds me of the kindness and magic of the Disney parks. Plus you can get it with a cheese dipping sauce if that’s your thing.
Dole Whip
The better known frozen treat in the Magic Kingdom, the Dole Whip is another yummy option in Adventureland particularly if you like pineapple. If the creamsicle flavors of the Citrus Swirl aren’t your thing, definitely go for this one. The Dole Whip is light, fluffy, sweet, and very refreshing.
Main Street Bakery Cupcakes
Though the Main Street Bakery may be run by Starbucks now, they still offer some delicious specialty cupcakes. They seem to change based on the seasons and specialties, but they are always quite large, sweet, and tasty. Disney cupcakes are pretty magical themselves.
Plaza Sundae
The citrus swirl and dole whip are both delicious frozen options, but if you’re looking for real ice cream with toppings and the works, the Plaza is the place to go. They offer a number of pre-designed sundaes to choose from, but you can also just pick a flavor and add your own toppings.
Corn Dog Nuggets
Prefer something a little more savory for a snack rather than sweet? Stop by Casey’s Corner and pick up an order of the Corn Dog Nuggets. These tasty little morsels are tiny so you can easily munch on them as you walk through the park, and it makes them easier for sharing.
Chips and Queso
People may not think o Pecos Bill’s as a place to stop by for a snack rather than a full meal, but if you’re a chips and queso fan I would seriously think about grabbing some here. I had the chips with a side of queso as part of my meal and was super impressed with how good the queso was. It made me feel like I would definitely come back here just to get them for a snack.
Cheshire Cat Tails
I will admit that this is the one item on the list that I personally have not tried yet, but it sounds good and looks like one of the more unique options in the Magic Kingdom. It’s a chocolate chip pastry topped with pink and purple frosting to give it that really cute appearance of the Cheshire Cat’s Tail. The perfect item to be serving at Cheshire Cafe.
