It used to be that when you planned a Disney trip, you mostly had to worry about dining reservations once you’d booked your resort. Now you not only have to plan dining, you have to plan your fastpasses ahead of time too. This is called Fastpass+. I’ll be doing another post at some point with tips and tricks for booking fastpasses, but this post is mostly to make recommendations about which fastpasses you should try to get in each park.
A couple of general things to note about Fastpasses:
- Fastpass+ is reserving your place in line at a certain time so you don’t have to wait as long. There are only a certain amount given out for each time slot.
- You are limited to booking 3 per day in advance (that day, once you use them all, you can book more)
- Some parks have “tiers,” and you cannot book more than 1 fastpass from the first tier, which contains the most popular attractions.
- If you are staying at a Disney resort, you can book fastpasses 60 days before traveling. If you are off-site you have to wait until 30 days before.
Magic Kingdom
In many ways Magic Kingdom is the easiest to book fastpasses for because there are no tiers or restrictions. On the other hand, it can be tricky because there are so many great attractions there!

If this is a ride you definitely want to do, you’ll want to go after this one first.
Other rides you probably want FP+ for if possible:

Which rides do you always make a fastpass for?
These are perfect picks for Disney World! You chose all of my favorites for the top priority, but I do looooove Toy Story so I always choose that over Rock n Rollercoaster because we will go in the single rider line for that ride. 🙂 I also remember the first time I scored the Flight of Passage fast pass. It was amazing!
I will sometimes choose Toy Story over Rock n Roller Coaster too – it’s hard because I love them both! But ever since they added the third track to Toy Story Mania it seems like the wait times are a lot shorter than they’ve been.
This is a great list! As someone who has been 7 times, I can attest to this whole list!
Wonderful, I’m so glad to hear that you agree! Though I know it’s going to need an overhaul once Toy Story land opens this summer, and then the Star Wars stuff after that…
