All-Star Music Review

July 27, 2016 by Becky 16 Comments

Welcome to this month’s Blogorail Orange Loop. Today we are sharing our reviews of the value resorts at Walt Disney World.

All-Star Music Review

When I want to make a quick trip down to Disney for a couple of days and I’m on a budget, I’m a big fan of the value resorts.Ā  They make Disney an affordable option for a lot of people and families, they have fun themeing and bright colors, and they get the job done.Ā  They might not have a ton of extra amenities but they have all the basics of a hotel that you could want, plus all of the perks of staying at a Disney resort!

Themeing

All-Star Music - Disney in your Day

There are three All-Star resorts – Movies, Music, and Sports.Ā  I’m a big fan of lots of different genres of music so I thought this was a very cool place to stay.Ā  The genres represented are Calypso, Broadway, Country/Western, Rock, and Jazz.Ā  If you follow my blog regularly you know I’m a big theater person so I actually requested to be in the Broadway section.Ā  They put me in Calypso in a preferred room for free though, so I certainly didn’t complain about the upgrade!Ā  Disney is smart when it comes to upgrades.Ā  I’ve never felt the need to pay more for a preferred room but after the convenience this trip I’ve already booked one for my next value stay at Pop Century.

All-Star Music - Disney in your Day

Each of the areas was themed really well.Ā  Lots of big, fun icons that are the signature of a Disney value resort.Ā  One thing that I was also impressed with was the amount of greenery and trees here.Ā  It gave the place a really nice feel to it.Ā  Everything was well maintained and there were some really pretty fountains and garden areas.Ā  The buildings of my Calypso area were a really vivid and pretty green – but I’m someone who really likes bright colors.

The main pool area has a statute/fountain of the Three Caballeros!Ā  I thought it was pretty neat to see a more underrepresented Disney film there (though now they’ve got the attraction in Mexico as well!).

The Room

All-Star Music - Disney in your Day

Rooms at value resorts are basic but generally suit your needs. Ā I didn’t pay for a preferred room but I got upgraded anyway which was awesome! Ā So my room was convenient to walk to. Ā I think it also may have been a handicapped accessible room because certain things about the room were arranged differently – the bathroom seemed a little bigger, for instance. Ā And I had a king size bed all to myself, so that was pretty awesome!

The themeing within the room is pretty simple. Ā The border on the wall has some Disney music touches, there was a little bit of art on the wall, the shower curtain had music notes, etc.

It’s also worth noting that All-Star Music also has a section with family suites. Ā They can hold up to 6 people and are another good option for larger families.

The Food

All-Star Music - Disney in your Day

All-Star Music has one quick service food court called the Intermission Food Court. Ā You’ll find your basic quick service food here like burgers, chicken fingers, breakfast foods in the morning. Ā If you’re out by the pool there’s also the “Singing Spirits” poolside bar where you can get an adult beverage if you like.

I was really pleased with my stay at All-Star Music and would definitely consider it again if I wanted a value resort! Ā I enjoyed the themeing here better than Movies or Sports because I’m a big fan of music. Ā I thought it was well done and fun.

This is one of the hotels we considered staying out but chose New Orleans instead. I love the bright colors of this hotel though, and I’d love to stay here at some time! I would request Broadway too šŸ™‚

Port Orleans is a wonderful resort too! But yeah, if you ever go back and you’re on a value budget I would definitely recommend this one!

Looks like a super fun hotel for a great value. I’ll definitely be thinking about the family suite when the time comes. Hopefully next year!

The family suites would be perfect for your family! They have them at Art of Animation as well which has amazing themeing too, though they’re more affordable here at All Star Music.

Back in the day (before kids) we stayed at ASMu! We loved it. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. The family suites alone are reason enough.

I agree, I love that they have the suites as an option. And I think this is my favorite value resort!

You know, I don’t think I’ve stayed at this one. There are only a few Disney ones I’m missing. I should check them off my list soon!

Me too – I’m hoping to do Coronado Springs at some point soon because that’s one I’ve never stayed at!

We’ve stayed here once in the Country/Western section, but would have preferred Broadway (love Broadway!) It was a very nice resort to be sure.

I am an All Star resort fan but this is one I have yet to stay at. I didn’t realize that the Calypso area was so darn cute. May have to give it another shot.

All-Star Music is the first Disney resort my family stayed in so it holds a special place in my heart. I love the theming too!
