When I started writing my monthly round up post I realized that it was getting a bit too long for anyone to want to read! I love sharing my blog updates and goals, Disney news from the past month, and other great Disney blogs. Instead of cutting anything out, I decided that I have enough to say about my blog updates and goals that it should get its own post! I’m not quite ready to talk about my pageview numbers an income (maybe someday!), but for now I want to least share some goals, highlights, and social media numbers. I’ve always found these sorts of posts very useful from other bloggers so maybe it can help someone else out too!
My most exciting blogging project that I’m working on right now is the Disney Stocking Stuffer guide. There are so many gorgeous items from Etsy sellers that I highly recommend you check out, and I’ll be featuring a number of these shops in the coming weeks! So a lot of my focus will be going towards that, but I have some blogging series I’m continuing (like my Disney World vs. Disneyland and my Bucket List posts), and some other original ideas coming too!
Post highlights from October:
These were some of my most popular posts from the past month, as well as the ones that I am most proud of and hope you’ll take a look at if you haven’t already!

How did I do with my October goals?
- Continue working with Pinterest, including the Pinterest Challenge on facebook (success! There’s always more to be done but I’ve gained about 150 followers the past month)
- Learn more about Stumble Upon (I’ve been using it a little more, though perhaps not to its full ability)
- Improve photography for blog photos (improving, though it’s a slow process)
- Create blogging business cards (created, ordered, and received!)
- Complete the Hershey half marathon (completed – recap here!)
- Make a cleaning schedule (epic fail. Someday)
November blogging goals:
- Research ways to grow Twitter following
- Set up photography area for photos – especially work on how to get the best lighting!
- Add photo/bio of myself to the side bar. I had kind of thought it wasn’t necessary originally because I felt like my blog is about Disney, not me, but now I realize I’m pretty wrong about that. I always like to see who other people are when i click on their blogs.
- Instagram: 700 followers
- Twitter: 750 followers
- Facebook: 1500 followers
- Pinterest: 750 followers
Personal goals:
- Complete National Novel Writing Month – 50,000 words in the month of November!
- Keep going to tap dancing lessons.
- Make a cleaning schedule.
- Keep up with half marathon training for the Glass Slipper Challenge.

What are your goals this month? And what do you think of mine? Any ideas or suggestions for Disney in your Day?
What’s your book for NaNo about? If you need anyone to read an early draft, I’m your gal! 😉
Thanks! It’s actually an educational guide to Disney World – mostly directed at kids/parents, though I think everyone can learn a little something while they’re at Disney! 😉
Ooooh I love those Jamberry nails!!! and I felt the same way about adding my pic to the sidebar. But I quickly figured out that adding a picture to the sidebar makes your blog so much more personal! It’s one of the first things I look at when I first go to a blog!
Yup, I noticed the same thing – I always look at that sidebar to see the picture, so I realized I’d better add it too!
Check out Triberr. Where you share others posts and they share yours. I have gotten a great number of twitter followers through there.
Interesting, I hadn’t heard of that one – I’ll definitely check it out!
Good for you for tackling nanowrmo! I’ve thought about doing it a couple of times but it just overwhelms me! And way to own your Pinterest this month; 150 new followers is nothing to shake your fist at! Good luck with November!
Thanks! I will say that I do a lot of prep before Nanowrimo, outlining and planning a stuff, so it’s not quite as overwhelming as it could be. But even this first week has felt a little stressful so we’ll see how it goes! I’m finding nonfiction to actually be more challenging because I have to look things up and fact check. At least with fiction if I just needed to get words out I could kind of freewrite, even if I ultimately didn’t use it in the book.
I always love looking at others blogging goals. I would love to read a post from you about your Stumbleupon results once you start on this goal. I always wonder if I should be using it. Is it worth my time? Have you heard others have awesome results?
StumbleUpon is a very good source for pageviews!!
That’s what I’ve heard, I need to work on it!
I’ve heard of some people that are super successful with StumbleUpon. I had one or two good days where I got a bunch of views from it, but on a daily basis I don’t see much. I still need to learn the tricks of it!
I am with you on so many of these!
1. I love StumbleUpon. It can be such a great driver of traffic!
2. I need to make business cards! I’ve been telling myself forever and haven’t done it! I want to be able to send my Etsy buyers a business card!
3. I need a cleaning schedule SO badly!
Your posts were the ones that inspired me to look into StumbleUpon, and I refer back to them!
150 new pinterest followers in a month? That’s awesome! Now if you nail your Nov Facebook goal I need a tutorial on how you got so many great followers!
Thank you! I’ve really been working my butt off with my Pinterest lately – I think I will try to put up a post or two about it 😉
You are doing great with your social media. Nice job on finishing the Pinterest challenge. Can’t wait to see your pic and bio your page.
Thank you! I’m hoping to get my professional pics from our anniversary photo shoot back (we only got sneak previews) because I’m thinking there might be one in there I can use for my sidebar – but if not I’ll pull something together!
I just found your blog and I adore it! I hope your followers grow to your delight and that you continue your presence on your social media accounts! It takes so much work, I understand. I’m having a small problem getting people to notice my blog, but I’ll get there! It’s a work in progress. 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
Aww, thank you so much! Blogging can definitely be a lot of work, but it’s rewarding. I’ll go check out your blog too!
So how are the tap dancing lessons going? Where are you taking them?
I’m taking them at a dance studio near here. They are okay – it’s pretty challenging but I’m hoping something will click soon and I’ll get the hang of it.
