If you’re a foodie, check out these items at the 2021 Festival of the Arts food booths this year:
Epcot’s Festival of the Arts is back for 2021! It will be running from January 8th-February 22nd. Things will look a little bit different this year, but one thing that is definitely coming back is the always popular food booths. For many of the festivals Disney is doing a more simplified version of the food booths. That means they aren’t introducing a ton of new dishes – but as a result many favorites from past years will be back!
Disney has not yet released official menus for the Festival of the Arts food booths, but they have released a list of the booths and description of each one that includes mention of many food items. Based on that I’m able to share a number of our favorite dishes and drinks we’ve enjoyed in the past that I think will return this year, and which I think are definitely worth checking out!
A look at what will probably be at the 2021 Festival of the Arts food booths:
Artist’s Table
Beef Wellington with Mushroom Bordelaise, Fennel Cream, and Roasted Baby Vegetables – “beef wellington” is mentioned in the description for the Artist’s Table so we can be sur this one will be back! This is a delicious dish and honestly better than I expected from a beef wellington at a theme park.
Pan-Seared Scallop with Chorizo, Roasted Red Pepper Coulis and a Parmesan Crisp – scallops are also mentioned on Disney’s website so I imagine it will be this one. This was one of my favorite things at the festival and full of flavor.
Citrus Blossom
It seems the Citrus Blossom booth might just be a year round fixture at this point. It was originally part of Flower and Garden festival, but we also saw it at Food and Wine Festival this year. Now that it’s been announced for the 2021 Festival of the Arts food booths it seems to just stick around. As someone who loves citrus flavors, I have no problem with that! I expect the menu will basically stay the same as it has been. Here are some of my highlights.
Crispy Citrus Chicken with Orange Aïoli and Baby Greens – yum. I really liked this, though I admit there may have been a bit more “crispy” than “chicken” – there was a lot of breading. But it was definitely crispy and not soggy. And the other components were really good, especially the orange aioli.
Orange Sunshine Wine Slushy – this is one of those drinks that’s so sweet you might not even realize there’s alcohol in it. Perfect for a warmer day.
Islamorada Beer Company Coconut Key Lime Ale – I enjoy a good fruity beer, especially on vacation, so this hit the spot. You can definitely taste both the coconut and the lime.
Cuisine Clasique
They haven’t said for certain that this will return, but The Play on Rose flight was there in years past. I’d had the Angry Orchard Rosé Hard Cider before, and it’s not bad – but ciders are usually a little too sweet for me. Rose Ale was all right, but I didn’t taste much “rose” flavor in it to be honest. The Frosé was definitely the highlight here. It was sweet but not overly, with a really nice tartness. And refreshing in the Florida heat. If they don’t have the flight, I recommend just going for the frose.
El Artista Hambriento
Diego Blackberry Margarita: 100% Agave Tequila, Blackberry Purée, Fresh Jalapeño-Lime Juice served with Black Ant Salt Rim – I love a good margarita so I had to try this. It definitely was at the top of my list as far as Epcot margaritas go. The jalapeno was subtle, so it wasn’t too spicy, but I loved the blackberry flavor.
Goshiki (Japan)
Sushi Donut: Donut-shaped Sushi featuring Salmon, Tuna, Shrimp, Cucumber and Sesame Seed over a decorated plate of Wasabi Aïoli, Sriracha and Eel Sauce – this one will probably be around for years to come because it’s really become a fan favorite. It combines several tasty aspects of sushi but is still very approachable for more mild palates.
Nigori Sake Cocktail: Frozen Nigori Sake and Calpico accented with Strawberry and finished with Cotton Candy – this is the version I had in 2020, but it sounds like the 2021 version will be slightly different as they describe a drink with “sake, peach schnapps, cranberry juice and Calpico.” I suspect it will be similar and just as delicious!
Festival Favorites
Lemon and Blood Orange Tart – previously at Decadent Delights, this one makes an appearance at the Festival Favorites booth this year. This is a delicious dessert if you prefer the more fruity kind of treats.
L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise (France)
Crème de Brie en Petit Pain: Warm Creamy Brie in a House-made Bread Bowl – good news, as the brie bowl is mentioned by Disney! Because what could be better than cheese in a bread bowl? Especially if it’s a little cooler in January or February.
Frozen French Martini: Grey Goose, Vodka, Chambord Liqueur, Pineapple, Orange and Grape Juice with Lemon-Lime Foam – this will probably be back too, or at least a version of it.
Mosaic Canteen (Morocco)
Spiced Beef with Pine Nuts and Dried Cherries, Hummus and Pita Chips – this is one of my favorite things from Morocco so I hope it returns. The spiced beef is really excellent even on its own, but combined with the nuts, hummus, and pita chips it’s a great mini-meal.
Pop Eats
Almond Frangipane Cake layered with Raspberry Jam and Callebaut Belgian Chocolate – If you like almond, raspberry, and chocolate you’ll enjoy this. And it’s definitely a work of art!
#RainbowSherbetGlitterDreamAle by Playalinda Brewing Co. – this beer is super unique and beautiful (when you catch it in the light you can literally see that it glitters!), but it also tastes excellent. It has a creamsicle sort of taste to it, being creamy and fruity.
Refreshment Port
Lobster Chips: House-made Chips, Lobster, Lobster Bisque Cheese Sauce, Pickled Jalapeños and Citrus Cream (may be replaced with Lobster poutine) – this year Disney mentions lobster poutine so it won’t be exactly like this. But I imagine it will be similar, just over french fries instead of chips. And this was one of our favorite dishes of the festival.
May not be on the menu:
Sous Vide Chicken Roulade with Apples and Sage served with Warm Brie Fondue, Blueberry and Beet Gel and garnished with Beet Chip Crumbles – this isn’t mentioned in any of the descriptions but was previously at Pop Eats. I wanted to mention it in case it pops up anywhere because it was delicious! Juicy bites of chicken with lots of great flavors.
