The end of the month is always a fun time to because it means my Mickey Monthly box is coming! I had received a Halloween item in my September box, but I was also excited to see a little more Halloween in this October box!
You can see my post on how I customized my box in this post (and used the discount DISDAY to get 20% off!). But for the basics I ordered the Mickey sized theme park box, which comes with anywhere from 2-6 items. I chose a combination of snacks and souvenirs, ages 18+, and gender neutral.
And I’m excited to show what I got! If you prefer video I put together a little unboxing video, but I’ll also go over the items I received here:
The first item in my box was a Mickey Jack O’Lantern cake pop! If you watch the video you can see that I’m not quite sure what it is (because really, how would you tell what’s inside if you don’t take a bite?). The ears are made of marshmallow but it turns out that the head itself is actually red velvet cake, and the whole thing is covered in white chocolate. It was very decadent and cute for Halloween. For the food items I always have to guess at the price, since they don’t usually come labeled, but I would suppose this might go for around $6.95.
I had a second edible item in my box this time, and it was this Mickey ears chocolate from Goofy’s Candy Company! The inside was a rich brownie type snack and it was covered in chocolate. Perfect for chocolate lovers. It was a bit smaller than the cake pop so I’d guess at a price of about $4.95.
My first souvenir item was a book on Hidden Mickeys. This is an official Disney book so I’m excited to take a look through it. I’d previously had a much older and unofficial book about Hidden Mickeys, but I’m sure much of it is outdated now. I’m excited to see how many I’ve missed in my Disney travels! This book retails for $15.99.
The final item in my box this month was a Disney coaster set. These are paper/cardboard coasters. There are 6 different designs with 4 coasters in each design. They include Big Al, Orange Bird, Liberty Tree Tavern, King Louie’s Swing Club, Casey’s Corner, and Adventurer’s Club. I do like these coasters – in fact, I had liked them so much I’d already purchased them about a year ago! With the amount of Disney stuff I own I think this is inevitable, but I can always share with Disney loving friends. And since these coasters are cardboard and won’t last forever I’ll actually be able to still use them if I want to. The coaster set cost $14.99.
My Thoughts Overall
Quality of items – Really good. I enjoyed the food items – they were both very good and not just a typical prepackaged snack. I liked the souvenirs. Books are always a win for me, and the coaster set was obviously something I liked since I already owned it!
Value – Adding up the items in the box, I’m guessing they have an actual value of about $42.88. I pay $50 for this size box, so when you factor in the convenience of getting theme park items that you normally wouldn’t be able to get without being in the parks, I definitely think you get your money’s worth!
