One of the things I love about Disney World is that every time I visit the experience is different depending on who I’m with. The way that I do Disney is totally different when I’m with my husband, my parents, or just solo (and if I had kids that would of course be a totally different way to do Disney too!). And one really fun time was when I planned a girls only trip with two of my close girlfriends. One of us in particular had been having a pretty rough time, so we decided the cure was an emergency Disney trip to celebrate friendship!
I love having all sorts of different friends of different ages, genders, backgrounds, and interests, but there is definitely something special about just having that “girl time.” And doing it in Disney is no different! Here are some of the ways we planned a great Disney girls trip, and some other ideas that we didn’t get to this time but would perhaps try in the future!
Matching or coordinating t-shirts
To show support of our friendship, we decided to get some coordinating t-shirts. There are all sorts of different options you could do for this. Etsy has lots of “girls trip” options for Disney trips. We decided to each pick a character from Inside Out – I was Joy and my two friends were Sadness and Anger. It would also be fun to do a group Disney Bound!
Drink around the World
Epcot is more fun with friends! Whether you or your friends prefer beer, wine, or mixed drinks, there are great options in every country in Epcot. And if 11 drinks in one day sounds like too much, splitting some options with your girlfriends is a nice idea too. We recommend the Grand Marnier slush in France!
Shop
One thing my husband does not care to do when we go to Disney (or ever, really) is shop. But with this group shopping was a lot more fun! And my girls are much more persuasive at convincing me to splurge a little bit 😉 We were lucky enough to go to Cast Connection, the shop just for cast members and their friends with discounted Disney merchandise. We may have enabled each other to do some good shopping there! We also convinced Kristin to get the Dooney and Bourke purse she’d been eyeing for awhile while in Disney World.
Meeting characters
Jason will tolerate meeting characters with me, but he certainly doesn’t enjoy it. And I will say, it is so much more fun to go meet characters with friends who are enthusiastic about it! We had a great time gathering photos with several different characters around the theme parks, and those are some great memories and mementos from our trip.
Princess meal
Speaking of characters, a great way to meet them is to do a character meal! And of course on a girls trip a princess meal seems the most appropriate. You could dine at Cinderella’s Royal Table, Akershus, or just choose to meet the Beast at Be Our Guest. While our trip was last minute and we couldn’t get a princess meal in there, we did at least hang out with Mickey and friends at breakfast at Garden Grill!
Brunch
A girls’ brunch in Disney sounds like the perfect way to spend a Sunday morning. We didn’t do it on our girls trip (though we had a great breakfast at Kona Cafe), but in the past I’ve done the Narcoossee’s brunch at the Grand Floridian, and I’m going to be trying the one at California Grill this weekend! Did someone say unlimited mimosas?
Spa
There are several spas around Disney property, so whether you’re looking for massages, manicures, pedicures, or the works, this is another great way to relax with girlfriends. Grand Floridian, Saratoga Springs, and the Swan/Dolphin all have spas that you can visit.
Pool Time
The afternoon we had planned for the pool we got rain instead, so we missed this one. But just hanging out by the pool, getting some poolside drinks, going for a swim… and of course the hot tub!
What would you most want to do on a Disney girls trip?

It was so much fun!
It really was, we need to do it again!
Yes to all of the above! I included the Contemporary’s Brunch at the Top in my post this loop- I’m excited to hear what you think!!
I can’t wait to try it!
I’ve had two girls’ trips to Disney–last summer we stayed at the GF and this summer at the BC. Just me and my best friend. We had an absolute blast both years! Some of our favorite activities:
– Brunch at Raglan Road
– Bar-hopping around Disney Springs–Raglan Road and STK were our absolute favorites! We split truffle fries at STK, too, and they were delicious!
– Drinking around the world–highlights were La Cava de Tequila and the time we got caught in a huge rainstorm and ended up at the Rose and Crown pub for a few hours.
– Getting blowouts at the salon at the Beach Club–I think next time I want to try the Mandara Spa at the Swan & Dolphin!
– Karaoke at Kimonos at the Swan
There are so many great opportunities to bar hop in Disney Springs now – a lot of them weren’t open on my last girls’ trip! And I forgot about the karaoke at the Swan, that would be another great girls activity (especially for my group who loves singing!)
This is so fun! I have never done a Disney girls’ trip!
It’s great, and a different experience than doing it with family!
