Disney news, rumors, and round up: April 2026

Last updated April 7, 2026 by Becky 2 Comments

This past month might not have seen a ton of announcements in terms of attractions or content, but we did get a lot of discounts and deals for theme park travel! Especially if you are thinking about visiting Disney World in the summer, there are some great savings. I’ll be there myself in mid-June, and I’m looking forward to it (despite the heat!).

Disney news

  • A number of new deals have been released for the Disney World summer months. These include a 4-day, 4-park magic ticket, a new specially-priced after 2pm ticket, free dining, and up to 30 or 40% off resort stays (higher deals available for annual passholders and Disney+ subscribers).
  • Now that Josh D’Amaro is officially the CEO of the Walt Disney Company, a new replacement has been named as the Disney Experiences Chairman. That job will go to Thomas Mazloum, who was previously the president of Disneyland.
  • Several attractions that were closed for refurbishment will reopen in the next few months. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will reopen on April 8th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopens in early May, and the new addition of Soarin’ will come out on May 26.
  • In addition, two new items at Disney World will also open on May 26. That includes Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! at Hollywood Studios, and Bluey’s Wild World at Animal Kingdom.
  • While parts of Animal Kingdom are under construction, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy are temporarily doing meet and greets at the Harambe Train Station in Africa.
  • At the Grand Floridian, the Grand Floridian Cafe will be undergoing a lengthy refurbishment, and will be closed from July through October of this year.
  • A name has been announced for Disney’s upcoming cruise ship, which will be a sister ship to the Wish, Treasure, and Destiny. This one will be called the Believe, and it’s expected to debut in late 2027.
  • Tickets for the D23 fan event went on sale earlier this month. The event will be happening on August 14-16.

Disney rumors

Hollywood Studios // With a new Toy Story film coming out this summer, there is some speculation about what additions the parks might see. New merch and food, of course, but maybe there will be a new character meet?

Hollywood Studios // Although an opening date for Rock n Roller Coaster starring the Muppets has not yet been announced, rumors are still persistent that they are aiming to open it for Memorial Day weekend or sometime in June.

Skyliner // Could we see the Skyliner going to more resorts? With some construction plans in the works it’s not impossible, and Coronado Springs or a new Disney hotel might be top contenders, according to blogger Tom Bricker.

About Me

Hi, I'm Becky!

I'm a huge Disney fan in my early 30's and always trying to find a way to put a little bit of Disney into everyday life. I live in Pennsylvania but travel to the theme parks several times a year - I'm an annual passholder at Disney World! In addition to Disney I love traveling, running, and theater.
