A look at all of the great options for Dining on the Disney Fantasy:
Is food the best part of a Disney cruise? It’s hard to say, since there are so many great things going on. But the dining options are definitely a highlight! Not only are there some great food and drink choices, the themeing of the restaurants is done really well and each ship has some unique locations.
Most of your meals are included on a Disney Cruise, unless you opt to visit a specialty restaurant (alcoholic beverages are an extra cost). You go through a dining rotation for the nights you are on board, so you get a chance to visit all 3 of the main locations. There are also quick service options, a number of bars and lounges, and more.
While the Disney Fantasy has a little bit of overlap with its sister ship, the Disney Dream, it also has plenty of unique restaurants and dining options. Let’s take a look at all of your choices for dining on the Disney Fantasy!
Dining the Disney Fantasy: Main Dining Rooms
Enchanted Garden
This is one of the three restaurants on the main dining rotation, and it’s also identical to the same restaurant on the Disney Dream. It doesn’t have an overly Disney theme, but it has lots of greens and flowers and is very beautiful.
There is also a magical touch that happens in this restaurant! Pay attention to your surroundings. Those flowers will bloom throughout the night and you’ll notice changes in the lighting and other details. It’s subtle but really neat.
Disney describes the menu as market-fresh ingredients and “edible flowerings,” though I didn’t think the menu was anything too unique. Some of the dishes we enjoyed here included the lobster ravioli, ahi tuna tower, tomato soup, sea bass and risotto, prime rib, pork tenderloin, orange yoghurt cake, and raspberry mousse.
Royal Court
This is another one of the main dining rooms. It’s very similar to one on the Disney Dream called Royal Palace. The cuisine is French and American inspired, and the restaurant decor is inspired by classic Disney princess films.
In some ways the themeing feels a little bit “generic,” but if you look closely there are many fun details! The main films which inspire this restaurant are Cinderella, Snow White, and Beauty and the Beast. There are some gorgeous murals on the wall. It’s a large restaurant so you might not be able to see everything from where you’re seated – I recommend getting up to walk around and explore a bit during or after your meal.
Some of the dishes I’ve enjoyed here include the lobster and shrimp appetizer, Salmon Royale, Conchiglie Pasta, Filet Steak, creme brulee, and my personal favorite – the Grand Marnier Soufflé.
While the menu is not my favorite of Disney Cruise Line dining overall, I do this this location probably has the best dessert menu!
Animator’s Palate
All 4 of the original Disney ships have a restaurant called Animator’s Palate. This is definitely the most fun of the 3 main restaurants! I love the decor in here. There are large paintbrushes throughout the room, and your bread knife even looks like a small paintbrush. Sketches of Disney characters are on the walls around the restaurant.
There are TV screens throughout the room, where Crush makes an appearance and interacts with guests as they eat. We were actually seated in the center of the room and were really too far away to be able to hear what was going on, so that was a little disappointing.
When you do a 7-night cruise, you typically get to dine in Animator’s Palate a second time. The show is different that time around (I’ve only experienced this on the Wonder, so I’m not sure what it is like on the Fantasy!).
The menu here is the same on all 4 of the ships, so I can say I’ve tried quite a number of dishes! They do have one of my favorite appetizers here – the Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes. I will order this every time.
We’ve also had serrano ham with Manchego cheese, smoked salmon tartar, tomato tarte, chicken and walnut salad, butternut squash soup, potato soup, Pennette Bolognese, Ginger-Teriyaki dusted Angus Beef Tenderloin, grilled tuna steak, herb-crusted pork chop, Cookies n Cream Sundae, chocolate fudge cheesecake, crunchy walnut cake, and the Lemon Icebox Pie.
Pirate Night
While it doesn’t have its own physical restaurant, most sailings on the Disney Fantasy do feature a pirate night, which has its own menu! You are sent to one of the main restaurants, but everyone is served the same menu.
The dishes have a lot of tropical flavors, so expect things like fruit, seafood, and jerk spices. There are a few fun drink specials too! Some of the dishes we’ve enjoyed here include a vegetable samosa, marinated shrimp, chilled mango soup, crab cake, carrot soup, “Jack’s Treasure of the Seas” (pasta with shrimp and scallops), jerk chicken, fruit cobbler, bananas in paradise cake, and a rum-soaked chocolate cake.
Dining on the Disney Fantasy: Signature Restaurants
Palo
Palo is one of the signature “fine dining” restaurants, which does have an extra fee associated with it. It offers an Italian menu with a beautiful space – all tables face towards the windows so you can watch the ocean.
The restaurant is the same on the Magic, Wonder, Fantasy, and Dream. It has an Italian dinner available as well as a brunch on select days. While I didn’t dine at Palo aboard the Fantasy, I have been there on the Wonder and Magic for the Palo brunch.
I personally love the brunch option – I don’t have to miss a main dining room meal, and there is a pretty amazing spread for brunch. Please note that Palo is adults only for both brunch and dinner (ages 18+).
Remy
This is another signature restaurant which requires an extra fee – even more upscale than Palo. Remy is the ultimate fine dining experience with French cuisine. There is also a very extensive wine list. I have not had the chance to dine here myself, but I did get to tour the restaurant to see the inside.
The decor is very elegant and French, with lots of great little details. The restaurant’s namesake is included in very subtle details. During longer cruises Remy also offers a champagne brunch and a “dessert experience” in addition to dinner.
Dining on the Disney Fantasy: Buffet & Quick Service
Cabanas
Cabana’s is the main buffet up on the pool deck, and it has a lot of variety. It was nice that the offerings changed a little bit from day to day, so it wasn’t always exactly the same.
It’s a great spot to get breakfast and lunch. I personally really like breakfast here as there are so many options.
Flo’s Cafe
The area called “Flo’s Cafe” is actually a complex of 4 counter-service style windows on the opposite side of the pool deck from the buffet. It’s usually open longer hours than the buffet, so if you’re looking to grab something at an off-time this is a reliable spot.
You’ll find Luigi’s Pizza, Tow Mater’s Grill (things like burgers, chicken fingers, and fries), Fillmore’s Favorites (more health-conscious options such as salads and wraps), and Ramone’s Cantina (tacos).
Ramone’s was not yet open on the Fantasy when we sailed, but once or twice we grabbed something here. I actually had a panini that was pretty good! And you typically can’t go wrong with chicken fingers and fries.
Sweet on You
If you want a fancier ice cream experience, Sweet on You offers a number of flavors of ice cream and gelato for an extra fee. The space itself has a Mickey and Minnie theme and is based off of an old fashioned ice cream parlor. There are lots of delicious sounding flavors to choose from!
Cove Cafe
While basic coffee and tea are included with your cruise, if you want a specialty coffee you can pay extra. The place to do that is the Cove Cafe! They have a number of drinks, including lattes, mochas, specialty iced teas, and more. A fun magical touch – your latte may come with a Disney character on top!
Bars and Lounges on the Disney Fantasy
In addition to the great restaurants and dining options, the Disney Fantasy also has a number of bars and lounges. I won’t go into all of them in detail here (that might be a separate blog post, as we tried a number of fun drinks!). But here’s a quick overview.
There is a complex of bars and lounges called Europa, and each one is themed after a different European location. Skyline Lounge represents 6 different countries – the bar has a large “window” behind it that changes every so often to a different city’s skyline.
Then you have La Piazza (Italian), Ooh La La (French Champagne Bar), O’Gill’s Pub (Irish), and The Tube (England). Spain only gets the bathrooms here, but they are some of the prettiest bathrooms you’ve ever seen.
There are a few other bars or lounges around the ship too. These include Meridian, Bon Voyage, Preludes (outside the theater), and several pool bars.

Which of these restaurants would you most want to visit?

I would lay down money that those paintbrush knives are the exact same as the ones from Topolino’s brunch. Also, now I’m dying to see these Spanish bathrooms. >D
I will show you pics of the bathrooms! I think they are the second most expensive bathrooms Disney ever created (after the Tangled ones in MK).
