Today I want to share with you a very special Etsy shop which makes mouse ears! There are tons of different Minnie mouse ears out there you can buy, and while the ones ShopDisney makes are cute my personal favorites always come from Etsy. I recently discovered this shop that makes mouse ears on Etsy from a friend of mine and I fell in love, so I wanted to feature some of the ears I got here!
MerMadeCreations Co is run by Mercina, who hand makes all of her ears. The ones in her shop are already made and ready to go, so if you like something you see there you can grab it right away. However, her specialty is really in custom ears. You can let her know your preferences, what you’re looking for, and she’ll whip up something just for you.
All of her ears are unique, so what you get is special just to you. Even if you want something similar to what she’s made in the past, she does each pair just a little bit differently so they’re all different. You don’t have to worry about ever seeing someone else in the parks with the ears you have because yours will be unique! There are lots of little details and touches she adds to make them special.
I got three pairs of ears and I told her I liked orange bird, Food and Wine Festival, and Princess Tiana – and I let her handle the rest and come up with whatever she thought would be good.
Another highlight is that the price is extremely reasonable. Most of her ears sell in the $25-29 range. This is about on par with what Disney charges for their ears (or cheaper, most ears seem to be going for around $30 at Disney now). Plus these are handmade, support a small business, and are one of a kind.
In addition, her mouse ears on Etsy have a unique feature of a special loop built in that has bobby pins attached, so you can actually pin it to your hair to make sure your ears stay secure. This is a great feature if you want to keep your ears on while you’re riding attractions! It would also be very useful if you’re thinking about wearing ears for a RunDisney event, like I did with my Minnie Mouse costume and struggled to find a way to keep my ears secure.
Of course if you follow the blog you know the orange bird and citrus swirl is totally my thing, so I needed an orange bird inspired pair of ears! It has a beautiful, sparkly orange bow tied with a ribbon features oranges. The back of her ears are just as beautiful as the front, with a selection of orange flowers. And the little orange bird made out of pipe cleaners and wires is perfect!
The food and wine ears are quite fun. The ears themselves are made with a fabric that has wine bottles on it. Then they are decorated with a bow, flowers, a wine bottle and grapes on one ear and a fork/spoon on the other.
However, I think that the Princess Tiana ears might be my favorite! It’s always hard for me to choose my favorite princess – it’s a toss up between Belle and Tiana. But lately these days I feel like I’ve been favoring Tiana more. I don’t have nearly as much merchandise for Princess and the Frog, and certainly no ears. These are gorgeous and perfectly inspired by her dress!
Overall I’m thrilled with the ears I received from MermadeCreationsCo and I can’t wait to be able to wear them to the parks! I’m also considering ordering some other ears as gifts for friends because she has so many great designs.
What mouse ears would you ask MermaidCreationsCo to make for you?
