It’s that time of year: the New Year, when everyone makes their resolutions for the upcoming year. One of the most common resolutions? To be more healthy, whether that’s through nutrition, going to the gym, or both.
I try to maintain a relatively healthy lifestyle all throughout the year, but January is always a good time to get a little extra kick to step things up! I’m a big believer in the 80/20 approach – eat well 80% of the time and enjoy some favorites 20% of the time to reduce cravings and have the things you really enjoy. I do some sort of workout 4-5 days a week, even if it’s just going for a long walk.
It shouldn’t come as any surprise that many of my healthy ways have Disney involved somehow! I’m primarily a runner, and do at least one Disney race a year (I have the Princess half marathon coming up soon!). But I’ve also got Disney tunes on my playlist and I’m looking for even more ways to involve Disney when it comes to my health.
So I thought it would be fun to come up with some ideas and share them with all of you! I’ve developed an 8 week program to help kickstart your healthy living journey. Over a period of 8 weeks you can sign up to receive an email once a week from me that will include Disney inspired healthy recipes and workouts.
Each weekly email will have a Disney movie workout, a Disney music playlist, and 3 Disney inspired recipes.
Disney Movie Workout
I also believe that any sort of movement is good to get your body going! I personally am a runner (I love the RunDisney events!), but I’m trying to add other types of exercise to my routine. Because of this I have two Disney related items to assist with your workouts. One of these is a “Disney movie workout”. I love watching Disney movies, but sitting on the couch all the time isn’t great. So for a little extra motivation I created these workouts to get you moving in conjunction with watching a Disney film!
Disney Workout Playlist
The playlists can be used for whatever workouts you might normally do to music. I run, but it would also be great just to go for a good walk! Each week will contain different Disney songs that are good for getting you moving and feeling active. You could also just put on the playlist and dance for 30 minutes!
Disney Inspired Recipes
Each week you will receive 3 different Disney recipes that are inspired by dishes from around the theme parks, cruises, or from the films. Everyone’s health journey is different -some people might be following a gluten-free diet, some might be doing keto, etc. My personal philosophy is to stick to more natural, non-processed foods but not cut anything major out of my diet (a balance of carbs, healthy fats, and protein is important for me). That’s what you’ll see reflected in these recipes.
If this sounds good to you, sign up today! I know I’ll be trying lots of these things myself over the next 8 weeks!
Do you try to involve Disney in any of your fitness or health routines?
