I may not have kids of my own, but that doesn’t mean I don’t still love toys. I admit that for Christmas this year I received LEGOs, coloring books, tsum tsums, and board games – most of which were Disney themed! Oh, and I’m 28 years old. So you can imagine if I had kids, there would be tons of fun options in our house for them. Here are my top favorite Disney toys that I came across in 2016!
Finding Dory was one of the most fun movies of the year because Dory is such a fabulous character. She’s adorable and so fun to watch on the screen – and now she can be fun in your home, too! Dory in the coffee pot was one of the most memorable scenes of the movie and it made me excited to see this. I had to have one for my home, even though I don’t have kids! You just fill the coffee pot with water and she swims around. It’s super cute and as it turns out, good entertainment for cats too 😉 You can get your Dory Coffee pot here.
Legos are great, Disney is great, so how can you go wrong when you mix the two of them together? In the past year or two LEGO has teamed up with Disney to make a line of Princess LEGOs, which have been super cute. But of course I think the best one is Belle’s Enchanted Castle – it’s not as crazy expensive as some of the other LEGO sets, but you still get a ton – Belle’s castle and a ton of the Beauty and the Beast characters! I’m in the middle of building my own set right now. Find Belle’s Enchanted Castle by LEGO here.
I will admit I didn’t know about Kate and Mim-Mim until I attended Blogger Bash this past summer, but since then I’ve heard a lot about the show from kids who love it! A plush of any character you love is great, but this Mim-Mim plush is even better because of the interactive element. You can twirl him around (his cushy hands are perfect for holding) and he sings. His ears are bendable, and he talks when you push his belly. So, did I twirl around the house myself with Mim-Mim to test him out? I’ll leave that up to you to guess 😉 I also have a child in mind to share it with who will probably love it more than I do! If you have a Mim-Mim lover in the house, this is the perfect gift for them.
Moana was another huge Disney movie this year, so it’s no surprise that we saw a lot of Moana toys! You can’t go wrong with a classic playset for kids, and this Moana one comes with all of the main characters you could want. You get Moana, Maui, her father, grandmother, Pua the Pig, and of course… Hei Hei! Purchase the Moana Adventure playset here.
And of course, Mickey Mouse is still just as popular now as he has been for years! With Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, it’s great to know that Mickey and friends are still a big hit with the youngest generation. This Mickey Mouse is not only a cute plush, he says phrases from the show that your child might recognize, he sings, and his shirt lights up! Find this Mickey Plush here.
I have no doubt that most kids (and some grown-ups too!) would love everything on this list. If they didn’t get it for Christmas now is a great time to shop – many stores offer discounts and sales and the mad rush of shopping is over! So pick something up for the next holiday or birthday.
