I love seeing all the fun merchandise people buy and Disney offers, so I started posting on my blog about the goodies I picked up on my trips! I don’t normally spend a ton on souvenirs but this trip I got a little bit lucky. One of my good friends who lives down there is a cast member and she offered to take us to Disney’s Cast Connection shop! You have to be with a cast member to be able to get in, but all of the merchandise is older stuff they couldn’t sell in the parks – and as a result it’s usually around 50-75% off! So there are some amazing deals to be had. Not everything I purchased this trip came from Cast Connection, but a majority of it did.
My biggest purchase was a Vera Bradley backpack. They are normally $100 but I got it for half off. It’s one of the cute Mickey patterns, and a little bit bigger of a backpack than I normally use for the parks. I immediately transferred all of my stuff over to it and I enjoyed having the extra space, and more pockets!
I also picked up some tsum tsums from various places. The Beauty and the Beast ones were actually from the DisneyStore.com but they arrived the day after I returned from my trip. At Cast Connection they had some of the Tangled tsum tsums for 99 cents, so I picked up Maximus and Mother Gothel, two of the ones I don’t have. And then there are some of the new park series! The hippo from Small World, tea cup, and “the red head” from Pirates of the Caribbean were all gifts from my Pixie Dust Pal (if you don’t remember from my mentioning it before, it’s a secret santa like group that I belong to which sends someone Disney themed gifts every month!). Even though I got so many tsum tsums already right now when I went into the store and saw Mr. Toad I knew I needed to get him too – my husband is a big fan!
Another gift from my pixie dust pal was this adorable orange bird plush (my favorite!). I think it was one of the few orange bird things I didn’t have yet!
My pixie dust pal also gave me this adorable Finding Dory mug. You know I love mugs. I wasn’t planning to buy one this trip because I may have a few already, but I saw this one in the shop and said to my friends, “If I bought any mug it would be this one.” And then it turned out my pixie dust pal got it for me!
I picked up two pins this trip. The first was at Cast Connection and was a Glass Slipper Challenge pin, which was from the race I had run there back in February. It was much more affordable than it had been previously so I got it for my collection! The non-discounted pin I got was Joy and Sadness. I always get one pin to represent my trip – I picked this one because of the matching Inside Out shirts my friends and I wore!
One special thing that I got for myself this trip was an Alex and Ani bracelet. I’m a fan of these bracelets but totally fell in love with their new princess collection. So of course when I was there was a Belle one I had to get it. It’s so pretty!
I also got a number of shirts at Cast Connection. The first one is an Inside Out RunDisney shirt. It was a men’s shirt but I got a size small. For only 99 cents I kind of had to! It’s even a tech shirt so comfy and good for running.
Another shirt I picked up was this Epcot World Showcase t-shirt. I love this personally, and it was perfect for this trip as we spent an afternoon eating and drinking around the World! My friends and I each got one of these t-shirts.
There was also a section of Disneyland 60th merchandise. Since we were there last September for the 60th celebration I definitely wanted to check this out! I ended up buying this shirt. It’s so glittery and pretty. I paid $10 for it – and I didn’t realize it at the time until I took the sale tag off, but it was actually originally a $100 shirt! Whoa. Thank you again to my friend who took us there! The only downside is that the sleeves are a little tight, but still manageable.
I picked up a couple of other little things too. The first was this Adventureland plate. Hoping to use it for some Disney recipes!
There was also this cute little Starbucks “cup” Christmas ornament.
Finally, even though it was a girls’ trip, I had to get my husband a couple of souvenirs too! I picked out a Disneyland 60th shirt for him. He prefers stuff that is more subtle and not over the top Disney, and he wears a lot of polos for work so I thought he might appreciate it. I also got him a tie with Mickey heads on it. Again the Mickeys are subtle, and it’s a purple color that matches a dress I already own so we can coordinate 🙂
I got more stuff than usual on this trip but it was such a great deal I couldn’t pass it up! I’m so grateful to my friend for bringing us to Cast Connection, it was an amazing experience!
Which of my souvenirs do you like the best? What kind of items do you like to buy when you visit Disney?
