One blog that I love reading is Simply Sinova, as she does many Disney related posts. One of my favorites that she does is her “WDW haul” or “Disney Store haul” in which she shares which souvenirs and items she picked up on her trip to the theme parks or the Disney Store. I love seeing all the fun merchandise people buy, so I thought it might be good to share a post of mine own!
I’ve tried to cut back on the amount of merchandise I buy when on vacation, if only because we have a lot of clutter and I know that when I spend that money on things, it’s money that could be going towards paying to come back and take another Disney trip! But there’s still so many things so I usually buy at least a couple of items. So here’s what I came home with from my last Disney trip!
I spent a lot of time in Epcot (mostly due to the Flower and Garden festival!). I always try to get one pin each trip that represents that trip, so this time it was the Flower and Garden pin:
They also had prints they were giving out for free to passholders. There was one each month in March, April, and May. I thought I would just get the one for May but they gave me all three, so that was pretty cool!
I also got a surprise gift from my pixie dust pal. I’ve mentioned before that I’m in a facebook group where you basically have a secret santa all year long and they send you surprise gifts throughout the year. Well, my pal had someone who lives in Orlando drop off my gift for the month at my hotel while I was out, so when I got back to my room one night I had this waiting for me! You might know that I’m a huge fan of the orange bird so this totally made my day!
I also attended the Star Wars fireworks dessert party on this trip. As part of the $69 per person, you got a complimentary Chewbacca stein. So now I have something fun to drink out of for any Star Wars celebrations we might have at home 😉
One of my favorite gift shops to visit is Bonjour Village gifts, in the Beauty and the Beast section of Fantasyland. It’s almost all Beauty and the Beast stuff and that being my favorite movie, well, I could spend a fortune in there. They have lots of gorgeous art prints, but it’s not really something I can spend money on right now. However, two of the ones I really liked were available in a postcard form for $5 each so I picked them up! Love this artwork.
I wanted to get some sort of souvenir for my husband, but he’s not as big of a Disney fan as I am. He told me to bring him back food since that’s his favorite part of Disney (but not like the prepacked snacks, he’s joking and wants a meal from Jiko or something!). Then I came across the Cooking Safari cookbook and thought it would be the perfect way to try and bring a little Disney food home to him (even if I have to make it myself!). It’s all recipes from Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge, which are some of our favorite places. I’m hoping to make the salmon sometime this week.
And finally, I had noticed that many of my Disney shirts were getting old and it might be worth the splurge to buy a new one at the parks if I found something I loved. One of my favorite rides is Expedition Everest, and I thought this shirt was gorgeous so I decided it was definitely worth it. I’m such an Animal Kingdom fan and now I’m happy to have a shirt to represent that park!
What’s your favorite Disney souvenir you’ve ever bought? What do you think of my haul from this past trip?
